Montepulciano
According to the legend, Montepulciano was founded by the Etruscan king Porsenna from Chiusi. People use to call this city "the little Siena", because its structure remind the suggestive chef-lieu. Its beautiful buildings, Piazza Grande, the wonderfull temple of San Biagio, together with a lot of other attractions, are things not to be missed.
Pienza
Characteristic town of the Renaissance, its splendor is attributable to Pio II, who was Pope in the 1458 and was born in Pienza. He commissioned Bernardo Rossellino to transform the village in a perfect example of Renaissance architecture.
Val d'Orcia
Is famous for its suggestive landscape and its medieval villages. UNESCO declared this area a World Heritage Site in July 2004.
Deserto di Accona (Crete Senesi)
Fascinating and suggestive area between Trequanda e Siena, characterized by a hill country almost bare. The distinctive grey colouration of the soil gives the landscape an appearance often described as lunar.
Montalcino
This town, famous for the Brunello di Montalcino Wine, is located on the top of a hill. Walking through its streets is possible to observe the wonderful landscape of Ombrone e Asso valleys.
Siena
The city is universally known for its artistic heritage and the "Palio", a horse race held twice each year on July 2 and August 16. A magnificent pageant, the Corteo Storico, precedes the race, which attracts visitors and spectators from around the world.
Bagno Vignoni
Famous thermal center and typical medieval village. The city was often used, by Italian or foreign directors like Carlo Verdone and Andreij Tarkovskij, as setting for movies.

Chiusi
It was one of the most powerful Etruscan town, insomuch as its king tried to conquer Rome. The Etruscan name was Camars, then the Romans started to call it Clusium.
Well-knows all around the world for its Archaeological Museum, rich of Etruscan and Roman finds. Others interesting places to visit in Chiusi are: the Cathedral Museum, the Porsenna's Labyrinth, the Roman Catacombs, and the Etruscan Tombs. Close to the old town center, is situated a lake, known also by Dante Alighieri who used to call it "Il Chiaro".
